Alumina–Silica Hybrid Reinforcement in Jute/Epoxy Composites: Mechanical Characterization and Modified Rule of Mixtures for Strength–Toughness–Hardness Optimization

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Natural fiber composites offer sustainable alternatives to synthetic materials but need performance enhancement for structural applications. This study investigates the mechanical behavior of jute fiber–reinforced epoxy composites modified with alumina–silica hybrid fillers at varying compositions and loadings.

Real‐Time Kinetic Monitoring of Dental Composite Photopolymerization by Photo‐DSC

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Real time photo‐DSC was used to investigate polymerization kinetics of Bis‐GMA/TEGDMA dental composites. The study thoroughly examines how photo‐initiator type, concentration, silica filler content, and moisture affect conversion and curing rate. Results highlight optimal initiator systems, filler effects, and moisture tolerance, providing valuable ...

Atomically Thin Sieves: Two‐Dimensional Materials for Membrane Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Atomically thin membranes derived from 2D materials overcome the inherent selectivity‐permeability trade‐off in conventional separation technologies. This perspective elucidates transport mechanisms for gases, water, and ions, surveys fabrication strategies including top‐down pore engineering and bottom‐up synthesis, highlights recent experimental and ...

Glyoxylic‐Acetal‐Based Gel‐Polymer Electrolytes for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2025.
A safe electrolyte based on tetraethoxyglyoxal (LE) is combined with a methacrylate polymer matrix. The resulting gel‐polymer electrolyte (GPE) exhibits an increased flash point, suitable ionic conductivity, and a stable performance in lithium‐ion battery cells.

Synthesis of Oligo‐Sulfonimidates by Exponential Growth via Sulfur‐Phenolate Exchange Reactions

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
A highly flexible iterative exponential growth strategy is used in combination with the sulfur‐phenolate exchange reaction to develop sequence‐defined oligosulfonimidates (16 mer). Combining this with sulfur‐fluorine exchange‐based iterative step growth, a bespoke 20 mer (Mw = 8.5 kDa) can be synthesized.
