Bit error probability analysis of linear receivers for CDMA systems
1999 IEEE International Conference on Communications (Cat. No. 99CH36311), 2003Bit error probability of linear receivers for multiuser communications is analysed. The results can be applied both for centralised multiuser or joint receivers as well as for decentralised single-user receivers. The analysis is presented for AWGN and known or perfectly estimated fading multipath channels. The analysis is also extended to the estimated

Exact analysis of bit error probability for trellis coded QPSK
IEEE Communications Letters, 2005This letter presents an exact analysis of bit error probability for trellis coded modulation with soft decision Viterbi decoding. It is shown that this analytical technique is effective for low signal-to-noise power ratio where bounds are useless. The extension to asymmetric constellation is also investigated.

Exact analysis of bit error probability for trellis coded modulation
GLOBECOM'01. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference (Cat. No.01CH37270), 2002In this paper, we demonstrate an exact analysis of bit probability for trellis coded modulation by using an analytical technique which is effective even in the region of low signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR). This employs an iterative calculation of probability density function (pdf) of path metric per transition, and is applicable for multilevel coded

Error Probability of Bit-Interleaved Coded Modulation in Wireless Environments
IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2006The bit-interleaved coded modulation (BICM) method is efficient in mitigating multipath fading by providing time diversity. In this paper, union bounds on the bit and packet error probabilities of the BICM are derived. In the derivation, the authors assume the uniform interleaving of coded bits prior to mapping them onto the signal constellation.

Polynomial approximations for Bit Error Probability for 4-DPSK transmission
2012 6th International Conference on Signal Processing and Communication Systems, 2012In this paper we propose an accurate approximation for the Bit Error Probability (BEP) for the case of four-phase differential phase shift keying (4-DPSK). The BER can be expressed in terms of the first order Marcum Q-function, which have no closed form.

Bit Error Probability for Baseband and Subcarrier Optical Communication Systems
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1974Digital baseband and digital subcarrier noncoherent optical communication systems are considered in this paper. Expressions are developed for the bit error probability of optical subcarrier systems which use a nonliner polarization modulator and either a one-detector or a two-detector receiver, The expressions are evaluated numerically, and the results

On the exact bit error probability for Viterbi decoding of convolutional codes
2011 Information Theory and Applications Workshop, 2011Forty years ago, Viterbi published upper bounds on both the first error event (burst error) and bit error probabilities for Viterbi decoding of convolutional codes. These bounds were derived using a signal flow chart technique for convolutional encoders. In 1995, Best et al.

The exact transition probability and bit error probability of two-dimensional signaling
IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2005A new signal-space partitioning method is proposed for the calculation of transition probabilities of arbitrary two-dimensional (2-D) signaling with polygonal decision regions. This enables straightforward formulation of exact bit error probability, symbol error probability, mutual information (MI), and error probabilities of individual bits in the ...

Analysis of Bit Error Probability of Trellis Coded 8-PSK
IEICE Transactions on Fundamentals of Electronics, Communications and Computer Sciences, 2005The letter presents an analysis of bit error probability for trellis coded 8-ary phase shift keying moduation with 2-state soft decision Viterbi decoding. It is shown that exact numerical error performance can be obtained for low singal-to-noise power ratio where bounds are useless.
