Effect of process parameters on bitumen emulsions
Chemical Engineering and Processing: Process Intensification, 2005Abstract Bitumen emulsification experiments have been carried out in a continuous pilot scale rotor-stator facility. The effects of the following process parameters, namely the temperature of the aqueous phase and bitumen, the rotor speed, the dispersed phase content, the bitumen grade and the emulsion flow rate were investigated.

Waterproofing latex-bitumen emulsions
Polymer Science. Series D, 2008Bitumen emulsions are developed based on new anionic emulsifiers, which are wastes of chemical industry. Optimal concentrations of emulsifiers in bitumen emulsions are established. The developed bitumen emulsions are not inferior in their process and service parameters to known domestic and foreign analogs.

Electrical properties of bitumen emulsions
Fuel, 1995The complex dielectric constant (permittivity) of water-in-bitumen emulsion was measured for emulsions with water volume fractions ranging from 0 to 0.5, in steps of 0.1. Significant departure from theoretical calculation was observed, and was attributed to the presence of polar components in the bitumen.

The combustion of bitumen-in-water emulsions
Fuel, 1991Abstract The combustion behaviour of bitumen-in-water emulsions has been investigated using suspended and falling droplet techniques together with some experiments of spray combustion using an air blast atomizer. Single droplet measurements have been made using a commercial soft bitumen-in-water emulsion (Orimulsion) and similar mixtures with varied ...
