Environmental Uptake of Lead in Black-Crowned Night Herons

Abstract Samples of black-crowned night heron tissue were examined for lead using spectrophotome tric analysis. Average lead content in tissues (in ppm wet weight) were 4.87 in eggshell, 3.6 in egg contents, 0.35 in developing embryos, and 18.3 in young heron tissues.
