Limb-brightened Jet in M87 from Anisotropic Nonthermal Electrons
Very long baseline interferometry observations reveal that relativistic jets like the one in M87 have a limb-brightened, double-edged structure. Analytic and numerical models struggle to reproduce this limb-brightening.

Universal thermodynamic topological classes of rotating black holes
In a recent study, Wei et al. (2024) [96] proposed a universal classification scheme that interprets black hole solutions, including the four-dimensional Schwarzschild, Reissner-Nordström (RN), Schwarzschild-AdS, and RN-AdS black hole solutions, as ...

Shadow of a rotating squashed Kaluza-Klein black hole
We study the shadow of a rotating squashed Kaluza-Klein (KK) black hole and the shadow is found to possess distinct properties from those of usual rotating black holes.

Following earlier works on the KMY model of black-hole formation and evaporation, we construct the metric for a matter sphere in gravitational collapse, with the back-reaction of pre-Hawking radiation taken into consideration. The mass distribution and collapsing velocity of the matter sphere are allowed to have an arbitrary radial dependence.

From singular to regular: Revisiting thermodynamics of Bardeen-Ads black holes
We explore the thermodynamic properties of the regular Bardeen-AdS black hole obtained by imposing an additional constraint on a singular “mother” black hole.

Thermodynamics of three-dimensional black holes via charged particle absorption
We have shown that changes occur in a (2+1)-dimensional charged black hole by adding a charged probe. The particle increases the entropy of the black hole and guarantees the second law of thermodynamics.

Broadband, Flexible, Skin‐Compatible Carbon Dots/Graphene Photodetectors for Wearable Applications
Broadband, flexible photodetectors integrating nitrogen‐rich carbon dots with single‐layer graphene on plastic substrates are demonstrated. A biocompatible chitosan–glycerol electrolyte enables efficient low‐voltage gating and on‐skin operation. The devices exhibit ultraviolet‐to‐near‐infrared response, mechanical robustness under bending, and verified

The construction of black-hole lattices, first attempted by Richard Lindquist and John Wheeler in 1957, has recently been tackled with renewed interest, as a test bed for studying the behavior of inhomogeneities in the context of the backreaction problem.
