Quantum Black Hole Entropy and Localization in Supergravity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this thesis, we examine in detail the notion of black hole entropy in Quantum Field Theories, with a specific focus on supersymmetric black holes and the perturbative and non-perturbative quantum corrections to the classical area-law of Bekenstein ...

Towards Hamiltonian formalism for string field theory and nonlocality

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
String field theories exhibit exponential suppression of interactions among the component fields at high energies due to infinite-derivative factors such as e ℓ 2 □ / 2 $$ {e}^{\ell^2\square /2} $$ in the vertices.

Holographic aspects of black holes, matrix models and quantum criticality [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In one word the core subject of this thesis is holography. What we mean by holography broadly is the mapping of a gravitational theory in D dimensions to a quantum mechanics system or quantum field theory in one less dimension In chapter 1, we give a ...

Kalb-Ramond field, black holes and black strings in (2 + 1)D

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
New rotating dilaton black hole and black string solutions in three spacetime dimensions are obtained. The solutions are asymptotically flat and, they are exact in classical string theory. The black hole solutions have only a single horizon.

Large D gravity and low D string via α ′ corrections

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
In this paper, we generalize the correspondence between large D gravity and low D string theory to the most general case, including its T-dual solutions.
