Aspects of Holographic Superconductivity [PDF]
In this thesis we study two different aspects of holographic superconductivity. First we study fully backreacting Gauss-Bonnet (GB) holographic superconductors in 5 bulk spacetime dimensions. We explore the system’s dependence on the scalar mass for both

Black holes as effective geometries
Gravitational entropy arises in string theory via coarse graining over an underlying space of microstates. In cases with enough supersymmetry, it has been possible to explicitly construct such microstates in spacetime and understand how coarse graining ...

Towards Hamiltonian formalism for string field theory and nonlocality
String field theories exhibit exponential suppression of interactions among the component fields at high energies due to infinite-derivative factors such as e ℓ 2 □ / 2 $$ {e}^{\ell^2\square /2} $$ in the vertices.

Kalb-Ramond field, black holes and black strings in (2 + 1)D
New rotating dilaton black hole and black string solutions in three spacetime dimensions are obtained. The solutions are asymptotically flat and, they are exact in classical string theory. The black hole solutions have only a single horizon.

Large D gravity and low D string via α ′ corrections
In this paper, we generalize the correspondence between large D gravity and low D string theory to the most general case, including its T-dual solutions.

T-duality invariant approaches to string theory
PhDThis thesis investigates the quantum properties of T-duality invariant formalisms of String Theory. We introduce and review duality invariant formalisms of String Theory including the Doubled Formalism.

Aspects of finite temperature corrections in string theory
PhDIn this thesis some aspects of temperature corrections in string theory are analyzed: in particular, we study the thermal contributions to the 4 dimensional effective potential arising from string theory compactifications.
