F-Theory, spinning black holes and multi-string branches [PDF]
We study 5d supersymmetric black holes which descend from strings of generic $\mathcal{N}=(1,0)$ supergravity in 6d. These strings have an F-theory realization in 6d as D3 branes wrapping smooth genus $g$ curves in the base of elliptic 3-folds.

Black holes in string theory with duality twists [PDF]
We consider 5D supersymmetric black holes in string theory compactifications that partially break supersymmetry. We compactify type IIB on T4 and then further compactify on a circle with a duality twist to give Minkowski vacua preserving partial ...

Summary: An exact conformal field theory describing a black hole in two-dimensional spacetime is found as an \(\text{SL}(2,{\mathbf R})/\text{U}(1)\) gauged Wess-Zumino-Witten model. For \(k=\frac 94\), the conformal field theory can be regarded as a classical solution of the same system that is probed in the \(c=1\) matrix model.

Quasinormal modes of charged black holes in string theory
, 2004Both scalar and Dirac quasinormal modes in Garfinkle-Horowitz-Strominger black hole spacetime are studied by using the WKB approximation and the P\"oschl-Teller approximation.

This is a set of introductory lecture notes on black holes in string theory. After reviewing some aspects of string theory such as dualities, brane solutions, supersymmetric and non-extremal intersection rules, we analyze in detail extremal and non-extremal 5d black holes. We first present the D-brane counting for extremal black holes.
