Separability of black holes in string theory [PDF]
A bstractWe analyze the origin of separability for rotating black holes in string theory, considering both massless and massive geodesic equations as well as the corresponding wave equations.

On small black holes in string theory
We discuss the worldsheet sigma-model whose target space is the d+1 dimensional Euclidean Schwarzschild black hole. We argue that in the limit where the Hawking temperature of the black hole, T, approaches the Hagedorn temperature, TH, it can be ...

Lifshitz black holes in string theory
Journal of High Energy Physics, 2011We provide the first black hole solutions with Lifshitz asymptotics found in string theory. These are expected to be dual to models enjoying an isotropic scale invariance with dynamical exponent z = 2 at finite temperature.

Supersymmetric black holes in string theory
Fortschritte Der Physik, 2007We review recent developments concerning supersymmetric black holes in string theory. After a general introduction to the laws of black hole mechanics and to black hole entropy in string theory, we discuss black hole solutions in N = 2 supergravity ...

Charged black holes in string theory.
Physical Review D, 1991A family of solutions to low-energy string theory representing static, spherically symmetric charged black holes is described. They are labeled by their mass, charge, and asymptotic value of the scalar dilaton. The presence of the dilaton is found to have important consequences.

The field equations, which emerge from string theory, are solved to leading order in α′ for the case of black hole space-times. We show how the results fit into a broader outlook on string theory and quantum gravity. In particular, it seems that string theory could cure some of the paradoxes associated with black hole evaporation.
