Geroch group description of bubbling geometries
The Riemann-Hilbert approach to studying solutions of supergravity theories allows us to associate spacetime independent monodromy matrices (matrices in the Geroch group) with solutions that effectively only depend on two spacetime coordinates.

Massive vector fields in Kerr-Newman and Kerr-Sen black hole spacetimes
The superradiant instability modes of ultralight massive vector bosons are studied for weakly charged rotating black holes in Einstein-Maxwell gravity (the Kerr- Newman solution) and low-energy heterotic string theory (the Kerr-Sen black hole).

Islands in linear dilaton black holes
We derive a novel four-dimensional black hole with planar horizon that asymptotes to the linear dilaton background. The usual growth of its entanglement entropy before Page’s time is established.

A stringy glimpse into the black hole horizon
We elaborate on the recent claim [1] that non-perturbative effects in α′, which are at the core of the FZZ duality, render the region just behind the horizon of the SL(2, ℝ) k /U(1) black hole singular already at the classical level (g s = 0).

Black holes lessons from multipole ratios
We explain in detail how to calculate the gravitational mass and angular momentum multipoles of the most general non-extremal four-dimensional black hole with four magnetic and four electric charges.

Black Hole Entropy from a Highly Excited Elementary String [PDF]
Suggested correspondence between a black hole and a highly excited elementary string is explored. Black hole entropy is calculated by computing the density of states for an open excited string. We identify the square root of oscillator number of the excited string with Rindler energy of black hole to obtain an entropy formula which, not only agrees at ...

Excitations of the Myers-Perry black holes
We demonstrate separability of the dynamical equations for all p-form fluxes in the Myers-Perry-(A)dS geometry, extending the earlier results for electromagnetic field.

String scale black holes at large D
We study aspects of black holes near the Hagedorn temperature. The large dimension expansion introduced by Soda, Emparan, Grumiller and Tanabe connects them to the well studied two dimensional black hole based on SL(2) k /U(1).
