Abstract This manuscript documents a systematic ethnomycological analysis of ethnographic archives. Focusing on texts describing human–fungi interactions, I conduct a global, cross‐cultural review of mushroom use, covering 193 societies worldwide. The study reveals diverse mushroom‐related cultural practices, emphasizing the significance of fungi ...

Phases of string stars in the presence of a spatial circle
In string theory, black holes are expected to transition into string stars as their Hawking temperatures approach the Hagedorn temperature. We study string stars and their phase transitions in the Euclidean spacetime ℝ d × S τ 1 $$ {\mathbbm{S}}_{\tau}^1

Rotating Dyonic Black Holes in Heterotic String Theory [PDF]
We study a class of rotating dyonic black holes in the heterotic string theory in four dimension which have left, right independent electric charges but have same magnitude for the left and right magnetic charges.

KALUZA-KLEIN BLACK HOLES IN STRING THEORY [PDF]
Non-supersymmetric black holes carrying both electric and magnetic charge with respect to a single Kaluza-Klein gauge field have much in common with supersymmetric black holes. Angular momentum conservation and other general physics principles underlies some of their basic features.

Five New Species of New Zealand Hemiandrus Ander 1938 Ground wētā (Orthoptera: Anostostomatidae)
Five new species of ground wētā endemic to Aotearoa New Zealand are described based on morphological traits and informed by phylogenetic analysis of mitochondrial DNA sequences. Hemiandrus briarae sp. nov. is a robust species living on mountains in northeast South Island, and H. dryadis sp. nov. is a gracile denizen of forests in northwest South Island.

Microstates of non-extremal black holes: a new hope
We provide a new roadmap for constructing microstates of non-extremal black holes in supergravity. First, we review the non-linear sigma model of five-dimensional supergravity governing stationary solutions with a U(1) isometry and present the first ...

We perform the toroidal compactification of the full Bergshoeff-de Roo version of the Heterotic Superstring effective action to first order in α′. The dimensionally-reduced action is given in a manifestly-O(n, n)-invariant form which we use to derive a ...

The “Pesticide Chip”: Chemical Legacies and Agrarian Futures in Costa Rica
Abstract For decades, agro‐industrial capital has adopted cascading chemical and biotechnical interventions, or fixes, to secure accumulation through the cultivation of monocrops. We develop a framework that centres on how monocrop‐induced susceptibility to pests and pathogens—and the patchwork of fixes to address these—produces uneven chemical ...

Excitations of the Myers-Perry black holes
We demonstrate separability of the dynamical equations for all p-form fluxes in the Myers-Perry-(A)dS geometry, extending the earlier results for electromagnetic field.

Black Holes and Solitons in String Theory [PDF]
In this review, I discuss a general method for constructing classical solutions of the equations of motion arising in the effective low energy string theory, and discuss specific applications of this method.
