Validity and Reliability of Clinical and Patient‐Reported Outcomes in Multisystem Proteinopathy 1

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Valosin‐containing protein (VCP)‐associated multisystem proteinopathy 1 (MSP1) is caused by variants in the VCP gene. MSP1 results in various phenotypes including progressive myopathy, Paget's disease of bone, frontotemporal dementia, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and parkinsonism, among others.

ULCER OF THE BLADDER. [PDF]

open access: yesJAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1902
Under the general title of "Ulcer of the Bladder," it will be best to avoid complicating considerations by stating definitely what is intended to be understood. I mean to speak only of ulcers in the usual pathologic sense; that is to say, the loss of substance which does not show any intention of healing, which produces abnormal secretion and whose ...

A pH-sensitive stearoyl-PEG-poly(methacryloyl sulfadimethoxine)-decorated liposome system for protein delivery: an application for bladder cancer treatment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Stealth pH-responsive liposomes for the delivery of therapeutic proteins to the bladder epithelium were prepared using methoxy-poly(ethylene glycol)5kDa-1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (mPEG5kDa-DSPE) and stearoyl-poly(ethylene glycol ...

Joule‐Assisted Nanotherapeutic Urethral Stent (JANUS) for Spatiotemporal Theragenerative Treatment of Urethral Strictures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Joule‐assisted nanotherapeutic urethral stent harnesses a smart, biodegradable magnesium stent to orchestrate spatiotemporal theragenerative therapy for urethral strictures. Magnetically induced Joule heating enables on‐demand drug release and bacterial ablation, while simultaneously guiding urothelial regeneration.

Wearable Haptic Feedback Interfaces for Augmenting Human Touch

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The wearable haptic feedback interfaces enhance user experience in gaming, social media, biomedical instrumentation, and robotics by generating tactile sensations. This review discusses and categorizes current haptic feedback interfaces into force, thermal, and electrotactile stimulation‐based haptic feedback interfaces, elucidating their current ...

The Value of Negative Urinary Dipstick Tests for Haematuria in Patients Undergoing Surveillance for Low-grade Ta Urothelial Cancer: A Two-stage Prospective Clinical Study in 524 Patients

open access: yesEuropean Urology Open Science
Background and objective: The risk of first recurrence beyond 5 yr for patients with low-grade (LG) Ta non–muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) is low enough to consider discontinuing cystoscopic surveillance at that point.

Low dose intradetrusor injections of onabotulinumtoxinA in women with overactive bladder symptoms or the painful bladder syndrome: unfavorable balance between clinical efficacy and the need for catheterization

open access: yesUrogynaecologia International Journal, 2012
We evaluated our results with low dose intradetrusor injections of onabotulinu - mtoxinA in women with overactive bladder symptoms and the painful bladder syndrome in terms of clinically successful outcomes and the need for clean intermittent self ...

H2O2‐Generating Advanced Nanomaterials for Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
H2O2‐generating nanoplatforms can exploit tumor redox imbalance for O2 and toxic reactive oxygen species generation, leading to hypoxia reversal, and apoptosis of cancer cells, respectively. This review highlights the mechanisms of these nanoplatforms, including exogenous H₂O₂ delivery, endogenous amplification, and metal peroxides, which leads to ...
