Transurethral resection of a giant bladder leiomyoma

open access: yesBMC Urology
Background Bladder leiomyomas are benign neoplasms of the bladder. Giant bladder leiomyomas are rare and conventionally treated by partial cystectomy.

Application of Three-Dimensional Volumetric Ultrasonography in Patients with Bladder Cancer and Its Mimickers: A Pictorial Essay

open access: yes대한영상의학회지, 2017
Various diseases of the urinary bladder can be demonstrated as being polypoid, a nodular bladder mass or as focal bladder wall thickening. This includes malignant or benign neoplasms, urinary stones, or other inflammatory bladder conditions.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Transurethral resection and surveillance of bladder cancer supported by 5-aminolevulinic acid-induced fluorescence endoscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Purpose: We determined whether neoplastic disease, which was missed under white light can be found during transurethral resection of bladder cancer by 5-aminolevulinic acid-induced porphyrin fluorescence.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Translating whole‐genome doubling into precision medicine in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome doubling creates a WGD‐positive tumor state characterized by persistent chromosomal instability, karyotypic diversification, and cellular stress. These same biological pressures drive aggressive tumor evolution while exposing therapeutic vulnerabilities, providing a rationale for WGD‐informed precision medicine. Whole‐genome doubling (WGD)

A rare case of seminoma metastasis to the bladder

open access: yesВестник урологии
Introduction. The great majority of testis neoplasms are germ cell tumours. The most common site of metastasis is the retroperitoneal region. Metastasis to the bladder is very rare.Clinical case.

Unusual Bladder Metastasis from a Primary Gastric Carcinoma: Two Case Reports and Review of Literature

open access: yesCase Reports in Urology, 2020
Primary bladder cancer is a frequent malignancy in the urology field, whereas secondary bladder neoplasms from a distant organ are extremely rare. This paper aims to report two rare cases of a secondary tumor of the urinary bladder from a primary gastric

Involvement of Nitric Oxide in Microcirculatory Reactions after Ischemia-Reperfusion of the Rat Urinary Bladder [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Background: Nitric oxide ( NO) plays a role in inflammation. Our aim was to investigate the role of NO in the microcirculatory changes after ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) of the bladder using intravital videomicroscopy (IVM).
