Implementation of the blade element momentum model on a polar grid and its aeroelastic load impact
. We show that the upscaling of wind turbines from rotor diameters of 15–20 m to presently large rotors of 150–200 m has changed the requirements for the aerodynamic blade element momentum (BEM) models in the aeroelastic codes.

Response of Bladed Disks With Mistuned Blade-Disk Interfaces [PDF]
This paper focuses on the determination of the effects on the bladed disk forced response of small variations (mistuning) in the blade-disk interface properties as may result from blade seating. A blade-interface-disk mean model is first developed that relies on both the Craig-Bampton approach and a local modeling of the interface. Then, both model and

Balancing and blade-shaping of a single-blade impeller [PDF]
Single-blade centrifugal pumps with a screw-shaped blade are widely used to pump slurry water containing solids and fibrous matters. These hydraulic machines should be frequently used, because of their suitable hydraulic and mechanical properties, in many industrial areas. There cannot be applied a conventional method to design a single-blade impeller,

Are inclined screw blades for vertical grain augers advantageous? [PDF]
Due to modern technology, screw blades are often manufactured by rolling them out of one single strip of steel. When simultaneously some blade inclination is applied, less residual stresses and/or larger possible ratios between outer and shaft diameter ...

Influence of blade-to-blade dissimilarity on alleviation of helicopter blade-vortex interactions
This paper numerically examines possible alleviation of parallel blade-vortex interaction (BVI), experienced by helicopters in low-speed descent, through the introduction of blade-to-blade dissimilarity. A four-bladed rotor with two sets of opposite blades is considered, and the radius of one set is reduced to 80% of the baseline radius.
