An investigation on AerofoilShaped Blade Profiles for Centrifugal Turbines
Proceedings of Global Power & Propulsion Society, 2022In the current design paradigm of centrifugal turbines, blading design has drawn on that of axial turbines. However, the adequacy of such design practice has not been verified. Hence, this paper explores the possibility of developing new guidelines that produce centrifugal bladings of higher performance with respect to those of axial architecture ...

Impact of the Blade Profile on the Production of the Screw Press
2021Screw presses are widely used in the production of clay bricks by a soft-mud process. The main drawback of screw presses is a torque transfer by the screw blade to the shaped mass so that the mass moves in a spiral. This significantly reduces the performance of screw presses.

Quantitative measurement of the edge profile of razor blades
Journal of Physics E: Scientific Instruments, 1970A simple technique using a scanning electron microscope in transmission mode has been developed for measuring the profiles of razor blades back to 1-2 μm from the cutting edge. The results obtained are consistent with data obtained by replication and interferometry.

The Problems of Measuring Profile and Roughness of Turbine Blades
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2018The article presents a study of a turbine blade profile and roughness measurement processes - the task facing any manufacturer of this part. The blade is one of the most complex regarding parts manufacture because of its complex profile. This profile should be measured in several sections on the feather on all profile elements - the suction side ...

An Entropic Minimization Technique for Turbine Blade Profiles
Volume 5: Turbo Expo 2002, Parts A and B, 2002The optimization of the boundary layer edge velocity distribution may hold the key to the minimization of entropy generation in the boundary layers of turbomachinery blades. A preliminary optimization analysis in the laminar region of a non film cooled turbine blade is presented, which demonstrates the concept of how the entropy generation rate may be ...

Constructing section profile curve of turbine blade
2010 International Conference on Wavelet Analysis and Pattern Recognition, 2010With the development of aero manufacturing, Precise description of turbine blade is required. The shape of leading/trailing edge is very important to the section profile curve of the turbine blade. Generally, the leading/trailing edge is a small section of the elliptic arc.

Advances in axial turbine blade profile aerodynamics
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2020The aerodynamic performance of axial turbines depends significantly on profile losses, secondary flow losses, and clearance gap losses of vanes and blades. In modern high-efficiency turbomachinery operating at various working conditions, profile losses are very important criteria for the development of vanes and blades, and turbine designers strive to ...

Aeroelastic Computation of a Wind Turbine Blade Profile
Volume 6: Energy, Parts A and B, 2012Wind turbine is one of the important devices to extract clean energy from the wind flow. The efficiency of wind turbines must be examined under various working conditions in order to estimate the off-design performance. Numerous aerodynamic and structural research works have been carried out to compute the aeroelastic effects on wind turbines.

Cascade Experiments Over “S” Blade Profiles
Journal of Energy Engineering, 1986A fully reversible axial machine in a tidal power plant has to perform turbining and pumping in both normal and reversed directions of flow. Runner blades having “S” cambered profile are found to be suitable for all four modes of operation. Cascade characteristics of four “S” blade profiles are presented and compared in this paper.
