Cascade Experiments Over “S” Blade Profiles

Journal of Energy Engineering, 1986
A fully reversible axial machine in a tidal power plant has to perform turbining and pumping in both normal and reversed directions of flow. Runner blades having “S” cambered profile are found to be suitable for all four modes of operation. Cascade characteristics of four “S” blade profiles are presented and compared in this paper.

Advances in axial turbine blade profile aerodynamics

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2020
The aerodynamic performance of axial turbines depends significantly on profile losses, secondary flow losses, and clearance gap losses of vanes and blades. In modern high-efficiency turbomachinery operating at various working conditions, profile losses are very important criteria for the development of vanes and blades, and turbine designers strive to

Cold Blade Profile Generation Methodology for Compressor Rotor Blades Using FSI Approach

Volume 1: Compressors, Fans and Pumps; Turbines; Heat Transfer; Combustion, Fuels and Emissions, 2017
This paper describes a methodology for obtaining correct blade geometry of high aspect ratio axial compressor blades during running condition taking into account of blade untwist and bending. It discusses the detailed approach for generating cold blade geometry for axial compressor rotor blades from the design blade geometry using fluid structure ...

Low-profile Ultra-Wideband Blade Monopole Antenna

2018 9th International Symposium on Telecommunications (IST), 2018
A low-profile ultra-wideband blade monopole antenna, which enclosed in a radome, at 400-3000 MHz bands is presented. The antenna configuration is a blade with slanted edge which demonstrates the enhanced impedance bandwidth compared with a blade antenna with equal total height but no slanted edge. The simulated and tested Voltage Standing Wave Ratio of

Constructing section profile curve of turbine blade

2010 International Conference on Wavelet Analysis and Pattern Recognition, 2010
With the development of aero manufacturing, Precise description of turbine blade is required. The shape of leading/trailing edge is very important to the section profile curve of the turbine blade. Generally, the leading/trailing edge is a small section of the elliptic arc.

A Robust Blade Profile Feature Parameter Identifying Method

2021
The blade is the key part of aero-engine. The detection of the blade profile feature parameters is an important aspect in blade manufacturing. However, the surface of the blade is free-form surface. It is difficult to extract feature parameters. In this paper, a robust feature identify method is proposed.

Aeroelastic Computation of a Wind Turbine Blade Profile

Volume 6: Energy, Parts A and B, 2012
Wind turbine is one of the important devices to extract clean energy from the wind flow. The efficiency of wind turbines must be examined under various working conditions in order to estimate the off-design performance. Numerous aerodynamic and structural research works have been carried out to compute the aeroelastic effects on wind turbines.
