A blade tip-timing method without once-per-revolution sensor for blade vibration measurement in gas turbine engines

open access: yes, 2020
The blade vibration measurement is crucial for gas turbine engines in order to ensure safe operations. One of the techniques is blade tip-timing (BTT), which is under the assumption that rotor speed is constant and depends on a once-per-revolution (OPR ...

Selective Inhibition of Integrin β3 Topology Provides a Safer Antithrombotic Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Current integrin αIIbβ3 inhibitors effectively reduce thrombosis but also increase bleeding risk. During thrombosis, high shear blood flow can directly activate the integrin αIIbβ3 via a distinct topological change in the β3 transmembrane domain, independent of hemostatic platelet signaling.

Improved Blade Tip Timing in Blade Vibration Monitoring with Torsional Vibration of the Rotor

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2012
Due to the complex conditions in rotating machinery, the blades usually encounter fluctuating loads, and failures may occur in the operation. Blade vibration is rarely monitored in the practical rotating machinery in power plants as the traditional blade vibration method using strain gauge method is hard to be applied in long-time and online monitoring.

Non-contact identification of rotating blade vibration

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal, 2015
This paper presents a non-contact measurement and diagnostic method for the parametric identification of vibrations of rotating engine blades, based on blade tip-timing (BTT) measured by optical sensors.

Compressor Blade Tip Timing Using Capacitance Tip Clearance Probes”. Transactions of the ASME. ASME GT-2003-38284.9 loaded From:

open access: yes, 2003
Turbomachinery blade vibrations of sufficient amplitude cause High Cycle Fatigue, which reduces blade life. In order to observe this vibration a non-intrusive monitoring system is sought.

mGluR5 in ECCCK to BLA Circuit Modulates Depressive‐Like Phenotypes through CCK Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of mGluR5 and CCK signaling contributes to major depressive disorder, yet circuit‐level mechanisms remain unclear. Here, the ECCCK→BLA pathway is identified as a critical regulator of affective behavior. mGluR5 modulates synaptic function and CCK signaling within this circuit, controlling stress susceptibility and depressive‐like states ...

Lyophilized Synthetic Platelets: In Vitro Characterization and in Vivo Evaluation in Mouse Thrombocytopenia Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Platelet transfusions to treat bleeding complications use donor‐derived platelets stored at room‐temperature, that have a shelf‐life of only 5–7 days due to bacterial contamination risks. Cold‐stored and freeze‐dried platelets are being investigated for extending shelf‐life, but these still have the inherent challenge of donor‐dependency.
