Localization of Vibrations in Blade Assemblies

Journal of Vibration and Control, 2010
A simple model of blade interactions through an elastic disk is suggested in this paper. The elasticity of a disk is modeled using a ring on an elastic foundation. The linear discrete model of a bladed disk is obtained using the flexibility matrix.

Vibration of Marine-Turbine Blading

Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1950
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to give a general explanation of the vibration phenomena encountered in turbine design. Detailed methods have been omitted. The behavior of a vibrating cantilever is expressed in terms of the exciting force and damping factor. The sources of damping and excitation are discussed. Impulse excitation is

Vibration supression for turbine blades

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1982
A method and apparatus for suppressing vibration in turbine blading and the like is disclosed. A damping tube is inserted through an aperture in each of a plurality of turbine blades. By expanding the damping tube after it is inserted in the blades the tube is firmly secured to each blade.

Turbine blade vibration dampening

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1998
The present turbine wheel assembly increases component life and turbine engine longevity. The combination of the strap and the opening combined with the preestablished area of the outer surface of the opening and the preestablished area of the outer circumferential surface of the strap and the friction between the strap and the opening increases the ...

Turbine Blade Vibrations of Turbochargers

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1967
<div class="htmlview paragraph">The causes of turbine blade excitation are described, and the factors that influence amplitudes of vibration are discussed. Blade rotation in an asymmetrical pressure field produces a periodic force on the blade. Harmonics of this periodic force excite the blades at their natural frequencies.

Free Vibration of Blade Packets

Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 1977
The free-vibration characteristics of shrouded blade packets are studied using the finite-element method. The effects of various weight ratios, flexural rigidity ratios and length ratios between the blades and shrouds on the frequencies of vibration of the blade packet are investigated.

Recent Blade Vibration Techniques

Journal of Engineering for Power, 1967
The methods which have been used recently to predict the amplitudes of vibration of compressor blades are explained. Examples for resonances with maldistributions in the intake flow and downstream blockages are given. Two techniques of obtaining blade vibration data from the HP shaft of a two-shaft jet engine are described.

Vibrations of Cracked Rotating Blades

1992
A rotating blade with a single transverse crack is considered. The proposed model is a torsionally rigid, non-pretwisted Bernoulli-Euler beam of extremely different bending stiffnesses. Two fields are connected by a local spring element characterizing the reduced stiffness of the crack region. The governing nonlinear boundary value problem is solved in
