Experimental Testing of Tip-Timing Methods used for Blade Vibration Measurement in the Aero-Engine [PDF]
An important component within the jet engine in terms of vibration and high cycle fatigue (HCF) is the blade. This is the component where continuously higher demands on weight and loading are being made.

Experimental study of blade rigidity effects on the global and the local performances of a thick blades axial-flow fan [PDF]
An experimental investigation on the aerodynamic performances of thick blades axial-flow fans was carried out in this study. Two fans are considered, the first one is rotomoulded (in plastic) and the second one is milled (in aluminium). Both have exactly

ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Reconstruction of Vital Blade Signal from Unsteady Casing Vibration
Some important information pertaining to blade fault is thought to be concealed in highly unsteady casing vibration. This paper explores suitable methods to best reconstruct blade related signals from raw casing vibration, which could be used for ...

Vibrations of a Rotating Blade
The bending vibrations of a rotating blade were investigated by some authors. But, as in the aerofoil seetion the centre of gravity and the centre of twist do not coincide the coupling of bending and twisting vibrations occurs necessarily. In the present investigation the frequencies of the above mentioned coupled vibrations of a rotating blade which ...

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.
