Forced Response of Bladed Disk Assemblies--A Survey
The Shock and Vibration Digest, 1998This work surveys methods for modeling and analyzing bladed disk assemblies common to gas turbine aircraft. An introduction to symmetric (tuned) bladed disk dynamics is presented, followed by a literature review of studies modeling bladed disks, blade mistuning. and the effect of mistuning forced response. A summary of results is given, and suggestions

Experimental Evaluation Of Damping In A Bladed Disk Model
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1994Abstract Turbine blade vibration can be caused by numerous sources, but comes primarily from non-uniformities in the flow path. The frequency of excitation from these sources occurs at harmonics of the operating speed. As turbine blades are very flexible members, a number of their natural frequencies can be in the region of nozzle excitation ...

Probabilistic Response of a Bladed Disk With Uncertain Geometry
Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power, 2019AbstractGeometric uncertainties in the blade manufacturing process have important consequences in terms of dynamical properties of bladed disks. In this paper, we address the problem of modeling a full bladed disk composed by blades having uncertain geometry.

The Influence of Blade Properties on the Forced Response of Mistuned Bladed Disks
Volume 6: Structures and Dynamics, Parts A and B, 2011In turbomachinery applications bladed disks are subjected to high dynamic loads due to fluctuating gas forces. Dynamic excitation can result in high vibration amplitudes which can lead to high cycle fatigue (HCF) failures. Herein, the blades are almost identical but differ due to wear or small manufacturing tolerances.

THE EFFECT OF BLADE CRACK ON MODE LOCALIZATION IN ROTATING BLADED DISKS
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1999Abstract The effects of blade crack on mode localization in rotating bladed disks are investigated in this study. A disk consisting of periodic shrouded blades is used to simulate the bladed disk of a turbo-rotor. Blades on the disk are approximated as Euler–Bernoulli beams. A crack in the blade is regarded as a local disorder of the system.

Turbine Blade/Disk Fabrication Investigation
World Tribology Congress III, Volume 1, 1970Abstract : The report describes an investigation of blade/disk attachment methods for small gas turbine engines. The investigation included analytical and experimental evaluations of selected attachment methods potentially suitable for a 2-lb/sec axial flow turbine with 2500F turbine inlet temperature. A literature survey of attachments for small axial

Cracked Blade Detection From Bladed Disk Forced Response
Volume 6: Structures and Dynamics, Parts A and B, 2009The primary task of this study is to offer reliable and accurate model of a bladed disk containing cracked blade. This model allows simulation of bladed disk dynamic behavior for various crack positions and lengths. Due to absence of cyclic symmetry caused by crack presence in the disk, a reduction procedure was implemented to simulate full bladed disk.

Abstract : The feasibility of applying an optical derotator system to conduct dynamic structural analysis of a rotating/vibrating fully bladed gas turbine rotor assembly in a controlled spin pit facility was investigated. Interferometric holograms using pulsed laser holography were constructed for various assembly modes of vibration at assembly ...

Health monitoring and prognostics of blades and disks with blade tip sensors
2000 IEEE Aerospace Conference. Proceedings (Cat. No.00TH8484), 2002Blade tip sensors embedded in the engine case have been used for decades to measure blade tip clearance and blade vibration. Many sensing technologies have been used: capacitive, inductive, optical, microwave, infrared, eddy-current, pressure and acoustic. This paper outlines the technology of blade and disk health monitoring with such sensors.
