The Need for Shifting Baselines to Guide Fisheries and Ocean Activities From Days to Decades
ABSTRACT With novel ocean conditions rapidly appearing as the result of climate change, basing decisions about fisheries and other ocean activities on historical conditions is no longer tenable. There is instead a widespread need for shifting ecological baselines to more effectively guide decisions into the future.

Positive species interactions structure rhodolith bed communities at a global scale
ABSTRACT Rhodolith beds are diverse and globally distributed habitats. Nonetheless, the role of rhodoliths in structuring the associated species community through a hierarchy of positive interactions is yet to be recognised. In this review, we provide evidence that rhodoliths can function as foundation species of multi‐level facilitation cascades and ...

Spatiotemporal dynamics of Atlantic reef fishes off the southeastern U.S. coast
Abstract Understanding the spatiotemporal dynamics of fish species is a central concern in fish ecology and crucial for guiding management and conservation efforts. We constructed a joint species distribution model (JSDM) to simultaneously estimate the spatiotemporal distributions and densities for 21 reef fish species in the southeastern United States
