Sprayable Polyolefin Sorbents Enabled by Bio‐Solvents for Large‐Scale Oil and Chemical Spill Recovery

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A sprayable POE‐based sorbent formulated with a green solvent blend of α‐pinene, D‐limonene, and p‐cymene enables rapid in situ film formation via solvent evaporation, allowing efficient pollutant capture. The system exhibits high oil uptake (37.3 g g−1) and effectively removes up to 60 mL of VLSFO under simulated marine spill conditions.

Artificial intelligence in preclinical epilepsy research: Current state, potential, and challenges

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Preclinical translational epilepsy research uses animal models to better understand the mechanisms underlying epilepsy and its comorbidities, as well as to analyze and develop potential treatments that may mitigate this neurological disorder and its associated conditions. Artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative tool across

Research on Crack Propagation and Stress Propagation in Coal‐Rock Combinations Under Different In Situ Stresses Subjected to Blasting Loads

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
A stress wave propagation model for coal‐rock combinations under in situ stress was established. Taking a coal mine in Huainan, China as the engineering background, isotropic and anisotropic numerical models were constructed. Field engineering practices were carried out to verify the reliability of the conclusions.

Mushroom-cloud development and transport of radioactive materials and dust: A numerical study of the Nagasaki atomic bombing

open access: yesProgress in Earth and Planetary Science
In this study, the blast-wave formation and mushroom-cloud development associated with the Nagasaki atomic bombing were numerically investigated to construct initial conditions for subsequent meteorological simulations of “black rain.” To evaluate the ...

Explainable machine learning-based prediction of blast loads on structural surfaces in two-dimensional spatial coordinates

open access: yesResults in Engineering
High-fidelity analysis tools are widely used for shock wave pre-propagation and modelling in blast engineering. However, their time-consuming nature highlights the need for efficient alternatives.
