Blaze wavelength of convex blazed grating in an Offner spectrometer
SPIE Proceedings, 2010Compared with other forms of spectrometer, Offner spectrometer with a concentric structure is offering a lot of advantages, such as a compact structure, better imaging quality, lower distortion, and so on, convex grating on the second mirror is the key-component in it.

Perfectly blazed triangular groove reflection gratings
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 1984An experimental and numerical verification of profiles predicted by Cheo et al. [ J. Opt. Soc. Am.67, 1686 ( 1977)] for simultaneous TE- and TM-blazed triangular groove gratings is given. Corrected values also presented. The experimental results at 35 GHz show an n = −1 order diffraction efficiency as high as 99.9% for both polarizations. The numerical

Fabrication of blazed grating by native substrate grating mask
Optical Engineering, 2013The blazed grating is one of the key elements in a spectrometer. Hence we have adopted a new method of its fabrication. First, the combination of ion beam etching (IBE) and reactive IBE is used to fabricate a native substrate grating mask to replace the traditional photoresist grating mask.

Grating efficiency theory as it applies to blazed and holographic gratings
Applied Optics, 1977Recently developed rigorous theories have been used to investigate the diffraction efficiency behavior of both blazed and holographic gratings. In order to assist designers of spectrometric systems we have covered a complete range of blaze angles for triangular grooves and modulations for sinusoidal groove shape in first and second orders.

Fabrication of the convex blazed grating
SPIE Proceedings, 2010The convex grating is one of the key elements in hyperspectral imaging spectrometers. In this paper the diffraction characteristics of the convex blazed grating is investigated by using rigor ous coupled-wave theory, which indicates that within the wavelength from 0.4 m to 0.8 m, the plus first-order diffraction efficiency can be over 35% through ...

Blazing phenomena in dielectric-coated gratings
IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. Transmitting Waves of Progress to the Next Millennium. 2000 Digest. Held in conjunction with: USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting (Cat. No.00CH37118), 2002An analysis method for dielectric-coated reflection gratings of an arbitrary profile is considered for TE polarization case. The blazing phenomena in the dielectric-coated structure is investigated.

Bragg-angle blazing of diffraction gratings*
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1975The Bragg condition λ = 2d sin θ is presented as a necessary condition for perfect (100%) blazing of infinite, perfectly conducting diffraction gratings that produce only a single diffracted order, n = −1. As an illustration, the rectangular-profile grating is analyzed. Design blaze curves, showing the required depth as a function of angle of incidence,

Blazed-grating couplers in unibond SOI
SPIE Proceedings, 1999ABSTRACT Grating couplers can be more efficient than end-fire coupling, in coupling light into a thin film waveguide (thickness of I im and below). The aim of this work is to fabricate a low cost, highly efficient silicon waveguide grating coupler whichis to be used at the telecommunication wavelength of 1.3 tim.

Double Reflection in the Blazed Grating
2007 IEEE/LEOS International Conference on Optical MEMS and Nanophotonics, 2007The blazed grating with the Rowland structure has the advantage of self-focusing and is chosen as the major component in the spectrometer chip. In simulations for the blaze angle design in visible spectrum, we discover the phenomenon of the double reflection diffraction. Its cause and parameter space are discussed.
