Bleb Plication for a Leaking Bleb After Trabeculectomy
Journal of Glaucoma, 2020Purpose: The purpose of this work was to report a new method for the repair of ischemic bleb leaks. Bleb leakage is a serious complication of glaucoma filtering surgery with mitomycin C. Many surgical methods have been proposed to seal the leakage from a bleb; however, this novel plication method is effective, relatively easy ...

Outcomes of Bleb Repair for Delayed Bleb Leaks and Sweating Blebs
Journal of Glaucoma, 2018Purpose: To report the outcomes of bleb repair for delayed onset leaking blebs and sweating blebs following glaucoma filtering surgery. Materials and Methods: Medical records of 76 eyes of 76 subjects that underwent bleb repair for either leaking bleb or sweating bleb between 1990 ...

Bleb reduction and bleb repair after trabeculectomy
Ophthalmology, 2000To describe methods and outcomes for repair of bleb-related complications of trabeculectomy surgery.Retrospective, consecutive, noncomparative case series.Thirty-one persons having bleb revision by two surgeons at the Wilmer Institute from 1994 to the present. One of two types of revision surgery was performed: bleb reduction to decrease symptoms from ...

Three mechanical models for blebbing and multi-blebbing
IMA Journal of Applied Mathematics, 2014Membrane protrusions known as blebs play important roles in many cellular phenomena. Here we present three mathematical models of the bleb formation, which use biological insights to produce phenotypically accurate pressure-driven expansions. First, we introduce a recently suggested solid mechanics framework that is able to create blebs through ...

Histologic examination of ten leaking filtering blebs revealed an epithelial tract running from the surface of the bleb down to the episclera in eight cases. These epithelial tracts were considered the real cause of the persistent leakage.

Bleb Window Cryopexy for the Management of Oversized, Misplaced Blebs
Journal of Glaucoma, 2001To describe a new technique for revising oversized blebs after trabeculectomy.A chart review of consecutive patients undergoing bleb window cryopexy was conducted. Patients with symptomatic oversized blebs were candidates for the technique, regardless of the intraocular pressure.
