Needle Bleb Revision of Encapsulated Filtering Bleb With Bevacizumab

Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 2006
Abstract. The utility of needle bleb revision with bevacizumab in a patient with a failing bleb following trabeculectomy is explored. The patient had previously failed needle bleb revision with mitomycin C. After needling and injection of 1 mg of bevacizumab, the bleb was noted to be more diffuse with a decrease in surface neovascularization ...

Cystoid Bleb Cryotherapy

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1972
Cystoid blebs occasionally develop inad vertently in the postoperative cataract inci sion that is well covered by a conjunctival flap. This has been more frequently observed with the use of buried 8-0 virgin silk su tures. Most of these blebs cicatrize within a few months.

Remodeling an Avascular Bleb

Journal of Glaucoma, 2019
Large avascular blebs need to be repaired especially if they are associated with leaks or have had episodes of bleb-related infections. We describe a new technique of using an amniotic membrane graft, that is inserted into the bleb through a small incision, helping to reduce the size of the avascularity, providing support to the bleb, and preventing ...

Delayed Filtering Bleb Encapsulation

Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 1992
ABSTRACT Encapsulated filtering blebs concomitant with increased intraocular pressure (IOP) developed 47 and 6 months, respectively, after surgery in two women, 46 and 60 years old, respectively, who had undergone trabeculectomy operations in one eye. Both blebs were associated with mild anterior uveitis.

Encysted Bleb

2013
The formation of a true pathologic encysted bleb is characterized by intraocular pressure (IOP) elevation that generally starts around 6 weeks postoperatively. An encysted bleb has lost the ability to adequately reduce IOP in the presence of a patent tube, implying that aqueous permeability of the bleb wall has decreased (Figure 36.1).

Dysesthetic Blebs

2013
Mild, chronic ocular irritation following trabeculectomy is common and can manifest as a constant annoyance of bleb awareness with blinking; however severe debilitating discomfort can also occur. Bleb-related dysesthesia is an ocular surface disorder where a glaucoma filtering bleb interferes with lid function and tear film distribution such that signs
