Treatment of Postfiltration Bleb Leak by Bleb Injection of Autologous Blood
Ophthalmic Surgery Lasers and Imaging Retina, 1994ABSTRACT We treated a persistent, brisk bleb-leak after trabeculectomy with mitomycin C by bleb injection of autologous blood. Following preparation with povidone iodine, approximately 0.5 cc of whole autologous blood was injected into the bleb at the slit lamp.

Simmons' Tamponade Shell for Leaking Filtration Blebs
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1985We used the Simmons' tamponade shell to successfully treat four of five patients who had leaking filtration blebs after glaucoma surgery. Bleb leaks in both the immediate postoperative period as well as many years following surgery were treated. In each case, previous pressure patching had been unsuccessful.
