During the past year I have employed formalin in all cases of blepharitis. To apply it I use a toothpick with a small cotton mop wrapped on the tip so that it does not take up enough solution to run into the conjunctiva. The solution is made of the strength of 2 per cent. to 1 per cent., beginning with the weaker.
