In the first three experiments, subjects felt solid geometrical forms and matched raised-line pictures to the objects. Performance was best in experiment 1 for top views, with shorter response latencies than for side views, front views, or 3-D views with foreshortening.

CEACAM1 participation in breast cancer progression

In invasive breast cancer (BC), CEACAM1 shifts from an apical to a uniform membranous/cytoplasmic pattern, or is lost, as tumors dedifferentiate, inversely tracking the Ki‐67 proliferative index. In MCF‐7 cells, only CEACAM1‐4L suppresses proliferation, repressing cell cycle and growth factor genes.

Shirt-color recognition for the color-blindness

Color-blind is a generic disability whereby the affected individuals are not given the opportunity to benefit from the various functions provided by color that would impact humans physically and psychologically. Although this disability is not fatal, it brought plenty of turbulence in the affected individuals' daily activities.

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer

Estrogen therapy elicits clinical benefit in ~ 30% of patients with endocrine‐resistant estrogen receptor (ER)‐positive breast cancer. Based on findings that ER transcriptional activation underlies response to estrogen therapy, we tested the effects of epigenetic dysregulation via pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACi).

Blind Recognition of Touched Keys: Attack and Countermeasures

In this paper, we introduce a novel computer vision based attack that discloses inputs on a touch enabled device, while the attacker cannot see any text or popups from a video of the victim tapping on the touch screen. In the attack, we use the optical flow algorithm to identify touching frames where the finger touches the screen surface.

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.
