Crossmodal Recruitment of the Ventral Visual Stream in Congenital Blindness

open access: yesNeural Plasticity, 2012
We used functional MRI (fMRI) to test the hypothesis that blind subjects recruit the ventral visual stream during nonhaptic tactile-form recognition. Congenitally blind and blindfolded sighted control subjects were scanned after they had been trained ...

Acute Neurological Events in Children With Hemoglobin SC Disease: A Multicenter Retrospective Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Neurological manifestations in children with hemoglobin SC (HbSC) disease remain insufficiently characterized, particularly regarding acute events. The aim of this study was to describe the spectrum and frequency of acute neurological events in a multicenter cohort of children with HbSC disease.

Blind recognition of STBC based on higher-order cumulants

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2016
Aiming at the problems for blind recognition of space-time block code(STBC)in MIMO communication sys-tems,a method was exploited based on higher-order cumulants of received signals.Firstly, the model of received signals was given and the fourth-order ...

Reassessing Bone Marrow Aspirate and Trephine Biopsies in Staging for Paediatric and Young Adult Patients With Ewing Sarcoma and Rhabdomyosarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ewing sarcoma (ES) and rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) are aggressive malignancies in children and adolescents where metastases impact prognosis. 18F‐fluoro‐2‐deoxy‐d‐glucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG‐PET/CT) and bone marrow aspirate and trephine biopsies (BMAT) are used to identify disease involvement.

Blind recognition of short linear block code based on the weight of common polynomial

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2017
According to the problem of a short linear block code in communication signal processing,an algorithm based on the maximal weight of common polynomial was proposed.Firstly, the received code sequence was divided with different lengths. Then the common ...

Effectiveness of Resistance Intradialytic Exercise Compared to Aerobic Intradialytic Exercise for Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis commonly experience reduced physical function, fatigue, poor sleep quality, and impaired health‐related quality of life. Intradialytic exercise has been proposed as a non‐pharmacological strategy to improve these outcomes.

Blind Recognition of Touched Keys: Attack and Countermeasures

open access: yesCoRR, 2014
In this paper, we introduce a novel computer vision based attack that discloses inputs on a touch enabled device, while the attacker cannot see any text or popups from a video of the victim tapping on the touch screen. In the attack, we use the optical flow algorithm to identify touching frames where the finger touches the screen surface.

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Novel blind recognition method for self-synchronized scrambler

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2013
In non-cooperative communication systems,an adversary has to blindly estimate the coding parameters of scrambler from intercepted sequence. On the condition biased information source,a new method was proposed which can blindly recover the generating ...

Pedestrian Detection in Blind Area and Motion Classification Based on Rush-Out Risk Using Micro-Doppler Radar

open access: yesSensors, 2021
Various remote sensing technologies have been applied in intelligent vehicles and robots for surrounding-environment recognition. However, these technologies experience difficulties in detecting pedestrians in blind areas and their motions, such as rush ...
