An outbreak of blister beetle dermatitis in travellers

We report an outbreak of Paederus dermatitis in tourists from Zanzibar. This is characterized by linear and round skin lesions with burning and itching sensation, caused by the toxin pederin released by beetles. Contact with beetle very often goes unnoticed. Rarely observed in travellers, Paederus dermatitis is easily misdiagnosed.

Predicting habitat suitability of selected Meloidae species and future potential refugia: A case study from inner Western Anatolia

Consensus habitat‐suitability maps identify current hotspots of species richness across the Inner Western Anatolian mountain systems. Late‐century projections (2081–2100) under SSP2‐4.5 and SSP5‐8.5 show range shifts and changing richness patterns, intensifying at higher elevations.

Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV) is a highly stable, seed‐borne tobamovirus that threatens global cucurbit production. Its efficient mechanical and seed transmission, long‐term environmental persistence, and the spread of Clade II CGMMV isolates drive its rapid dissemination and cause severe yield losses.
