A refined Jones polynomial for symmetric unions

open access: yes, 2008
Motivated by the study of ribbon knots we explore symmetric unions, a beautiful construction introduced by Kinoshita and Terasaka in 1957. We develop a two-variable refinement $W_D(s,t)$ of the Jones polynomial that is invariant under symmetric ...

Stable Cuts, NAC‐Colourings and Flexible Realisations of Graphs

open access: yesJournal of Graph Theory, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A (2‐dimensional) realisation of a graph G $G$ is a pair ( G , p ) $(G,p)$, where p $p$ maps the vertices of G $G$ to R 2 ${{\mathbb{R}}}^{2}$. A realisation is flexible if it can be continuously deformed while keeping the edge lengths fixed, and rigid otherwise.

Discriminating Chemoresistant and Chemosensitive Tubo‐Ovarian High‐Grade Serous Carcinoma Cells With Raman Microscopy

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
Confocal Raman microscopy combined with multivariate analysis distinguishes cisplatin‐resistant and ‐sensitive tubo‐ovarian high‐grade serous carcinoma cell lines. ABSTRACT Chemoresistance is a major obstacle to effective cancer treatment, particularly in tubo‐ovarian high‐grade serous carcinoma (HGSC), the most lethal gynaecological malignancy ...

NTECARS: A Nonthermal Equilibrium CARS Spectra Fitting Code

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
We present NTECARS, an open‐source code written in Julia for the calculation and fitting of CARS spectra under nonequilibrium conditions. Rovibrational distributions can be flexibly modeled and fitted for different use cases. The code currently implements CO2$$ \mathrm{C}{\mathrm{O}}_2 $$ and N2$$ {\mathrm{N}}_2 $$ molecules and is validated under ...

Synergistic Multi‐Strategy Engineering of Temperature‐Responsive Self‐Trapped Excitons in Tin‐Based Double Perovskite Nanocrystals Enables High‐Sensitivity Fluorescence Thermometry

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Bi3+‐doped Cs2SnCl6 nanocrystals are engineered to deliver highly temperature‐responsive self‐trapped exciton emission, achieving record thermal sensitivity at elevated temperatures. A temperature‐induced dual‐STE excited state landscape enables reversible thermochromism, while a dual‐parameter calibration combining fluorescence lifetime and CIE‐y ...

Controlling the Center of Mass Motion of Levitated Particles Using Structured Wavefronts

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Optically levitated particles have great potential for quantum‐enhanced sensing. Precise control of the trapping beam is crucial to improve the stability and confinement of these systems. Here, we study how structured wavefronts can be used to control the center‐of‐mass motion of levitated particles, enhancing trap stiffness and enabling stable ...

Auslander-Reiten conjecture for symmetric algebras of polynomial growth

open access: yes, 2011
This paper studies self-injective algebras of polynomial growth. We prove that the derived equivalence classification of weakly symmetric algebras of domestic type coincides with the classification up to stable equivalences (of Morita type).

Predicting Statistical Signatures of Collective Emission in Disordered Color Center Ensembles

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
We present an efficient simulation framework for modeling collective emission in disordered ensembles of quantum emitters. The low computational complexity enables large‐scale Monte Carlo simulations. Applied to SiV−${\rm SiV}^{-}$ clusters, it predicts thresholded superradiant bursts set by emitter number and quantum efficiency, as well as interaction‐
