Enhancing Drone Light Shows Performances: Optimal Allocation and Trajectories for Swarm Drone Formations

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Drone light shows (DLShows) represent a rapidly growing application of swarm robotics, creating captivating aerial displays through the synchronized flight of hundreds or thousands of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as environmentally friendly and reusable alternatives to traditional pyrotechnics.

Microfluidic Capillary Arrays for Pixelated Control of Multimaterial Flows

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A 3D‐printed pixellated capillary array maps up to thousands of fluid inputs into arbitrary multimaterial flow cross‐sections. Automated manifold design and laminar scaling are used to amplify printing resolution orders of magnitude, generating microscale fluidic control from printed elements, enabling designed microflows for potential use in ...

Covalent Functionalization of NiFe Layered Double Hydroxides using Tris(Hydroxymethyl)Aminomethane

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Covalent functionalization of NiFe layered double hydroxides with tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane enables controlled growth, enhanced structural order, and improved processability. Temporary TRIS anchoring promotes stable water‐based inks and binder‐free electrode fabrication, leading to enhanced oxygen evolution activity and long‐term stability under ...

Imaging Ionic Displacements Across Inclined Ferroelectric Domains by a Reciprocity Approach to 4D‐STEM

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Four‐dimensional STEM comprises a vast portfolio of electron microscopy methods in one data set, conventional plane‐wave illumination TEM being one of them. Here, the principle of reciprocity is employed to produce true structural projections of misoriented ferroelectric domains at atomic resolution. By reciprocal TEM imaging from four‐dimensional STEM

Overcoming Imaging Limitations: 4D‐STEM Pair Distribution Function for Resolving Structure of Supported Pt55 and Pt200 Clusters

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
4D‐STEM based electron diffraction analysis has been developed to characterize the average structure of sensitive, dynamic ultrasmall supported Pt clusters at variable temperature by pair distribution analysis (PDF). For Pt55 and Pt200 the best fit is obtained for a multiply twinned decahedral configuration.
