An optimizing microseismic method for rock burst early warning based on mining production process

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
A classification early warning method of rock burst based on hourly microseismic data is proposed, which can be combined with the on‐site production process to provide more timely warning. Abstract Microseismic (MS) events have been reported in nearly every coal mining country, which could well lead to rock burst in underground coal mines.

Underground roadway design considerations for efficient autonomous hauling

open access: yes, 2018
Whilst considerable time and effort is expended on loader and truck haulage system selection and optimisation for an underground operation, comparatively less effort is applied when considering the design and maintenance management of the roadways on ...

Fracture evolution of a thick soft protection layer and the water inrush mechanism in overburden under longwall mining

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
Through shear–tensile creep tests and viscoelastic modeling, the fracture evolution of thick soft protective layers is clarified. Results show thickness‐dependent rheological failure modes that govern four types of roof water inrush, providing a mechanism‐based framework for hazard prediction and control. Abstract In the Jurassic coal‐bearing strata of

Surrounding Rock Deformation Control of Ore-Drawing Roadway Under Cyclic Ore-Drawing Disturbance

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Block caving is a cost-effective mining method that enables the highly efficient mining of thick and large ore bodies. During ore extraction in block caving operations, the ore-drawing roadways require especially high safety standards.

Combination of Pre-Pulse and Constant Pumping Rate Hydraulic Fracturing for Weakening Hard Coal and Rock Mass

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
The weakening of hard coal–rock mass is the core common problem that is involved in the top coal weakening in hard and thick coal seams, the hard roof control during the initial mining stage in the longwall mining face, and the hanging roof control in ...

Possibility of application of backfill methods with cementing fill in ore body Borska reka [PDF]

open access: yesPodzemni Radovi, 2015
The orebody 'Borska Reka' is dipping at great depth and above the ore body there are parts of the settlement and traffic facilities essential for the region. Geological conditions in which ore body occurs, low copper content in the ore and objects on the

Mechanism and disaster control new technology of strong ground pressure manifestation in ultra‐large mining face

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
In response to the problem of strong mining pressure manifestation along the goaf roadway in a thick coal seam mining area, this study uses a new type of combined blasting roof cutting technology to effectively control the manifestation and deformation of mining pressure along the goaf roadway.

Mechanics of the Voussoir arch as applied to block caving [PDF]

open access: yes, 1962
The theories of ground failure in massive rock with special reference to the problem of the mechanics of block caving were studied and evaluated. The mechanics of arch or dome formation underground were studied quantitatively using the Voussoir arch ...

Mechanism of “seesaw‐type” rock burst in coal seam mining beneath mountainous areas

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study reveals the mechanism of “seesaw‐type” rock bursts during coal mining beneath mountainous areas. The advancing working face induces nonuniform fracturing of the overburden. The detached mountain mass then undergoes a seesaw‐type rotational movement around a shifting pivot, driving the primary fracture through a characteristic “open‐close ...

Study on stability and control of surrounding rock in the large section stopping space with extra-thick coal seam

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal
The stability of the stopping space is an important guarantee for the efficient and safe withdrawal of coal mining equipment. The influence of the position of the main roof fracture line on the stability of the surrounding rock in the stopping space was ...
