Block Designs with SDP Parameters [PDF]

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2012
It is traditional to call a quasi-symmetric design with certain parameters an SDP design if the symmetric difference of two different blocks is either a block or a block complement. In this note, we delete the requirements on the parameters and demand just that the symmetric difference of two blocks be a block, a block complement, or either the empty ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Evaluation and selection of potato hybrid clones (Solanum tuberosum) for yield and associated characters

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2017
The present study was undertaken to evaluate advanced generation potato clones comprised 183 genotypes obtained from true potato seed, for early bulking towards high yields and associated characters for development of new varieties and selection of ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

A VLSI-design of the minimum entropy neuron [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
One of the most interesting domains of feedforward networks is the processing of sensor signals. There do exist some networks which extract most of the information by implementing the maximum entropy principle for Gaussian sources.
