Exact bounds for (λ,n)–stable 0-1 matrices. [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions on Combinatorics, 2020
Consider a v × v (0, 1) matrix A with exactly k ones in each row and each column. A is (λ, n)–stable, if it does not contain any λ × n submatrix with exactly one 0. If A is (λ, n)–stable, λ, n ≥ 2, then under suitable conditions on A, v ≥ k k(n−1)+(λ−2) .

Construction of Tm-type and Tm-assisted PBIB designs

open access: yesRevstat Statistical Journal, 2022
Two-associate class triangular designs have been explored greatly but the Tm-type PBIB designs (m ≥ 3) largely remains unexplored. The paper is written with an objective to construct a new series of Tm-type PBIB designs and to derive some more series of

Statistical Methods to Support Difficult Diagnoses

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2021
Far too often, one meets patients who went for years or even decades from doctor to doctor without obtaining a valid diagnosis. This brings pain to millions of patients and their families, not to speak of the enormous costs.

Block-Graceful Designs

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2023
In this article, we adapt the edge-graceful graph labeling definition into block designs and define a block design V,B with V=v and B=b as block-graceful if there exists a bijection f:B⟶1,2,…,b such that the induced mapping f+:V⟶Zv given by f+x=∑x∈AA ...

Inhalation-modulated detection of olfactory BOLD responses in the human brain

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroimaging, 2023
IntroductionIn contrast to other sensory domains, detection of primary olfactory processes using functional magnetic resonance imaging has proven to be notably challenging with conventional block designs.

Construction of Some Circular Regular Graph Designs in Blocks of Size Four Using Cyclic Shifts

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA), 2020
Circular regular graph designs play an important role in the design of experiments where most of the balanced incomplete block designs require a large number of blocks.

A Categorical Model for Classical and Quantum Block Designs

open access: yesElectronic Proceedings in Theoretical Computer Science, 2023
Classical block designs are important combinatorial structures with a wide range of applications in Computer Science and Statistics. Here we give a new abstract description of block designs based on the arrow category construction. We show that models of

A Statistical Model for the 2-Part Balanced Incomplete Block Design

open access: yesUMYU Scientifica Journal, 2023
Multi-part Balanced Incomplete Block Designs combine many orthogonal balanced incomplete block designs in the same block. The design has been used to study cancer trials with medical centres as blocks.

Blocking sets in block designs

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series A, 1985
The author studies blocking sets in arbitrary balanced incomplete block designs. A lower bound is obtained for the cardinality of such sets. The author uses his methods to show that the known lower bound for blocking sets in symmetric designs holds if and only if the blocking set is a Baer subdesign.
