Analysis of Covariance of Reinforced Balanced Incomplete Block Designs With a Single Explanatory Variable [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA), 2014
Reinforced balanced incomplete block designs (BIBDs) are very useful in statistical planning of experiments as they can be constructed for any number of treatments for given numbers of replications.

Blocking sets in block designs

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series A, 1985
The author studies blocking sets in arbitrary balanced incomplete block designs. A lower bound is obtained for the cardinality of such sets. The author uses his methods to show that the known lower bound for blocking sets in symmetric designs holds if and only if the blocking set is a Baer subdesign.

Block designs with repeated blocks

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 1972
AbstractThis paper investigates the structure of block designs with repeated blocks. Let the block design on the parameters b, v, r, k, and λ contain exactly t distinct blocks B1, B2, …, Bt. Let block Bi be repeated exactly ei times and define E =daig [e1,…et].

New Results Regarding the Construction Method for D‑optimal Chemical Balance Weighing Designs

open access: yesActa Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Oeconomica, 2020
We study an experiment in which we determine unknown measurements of p objects in n weighing operations according to the model of the chemical balance weighing design. We determine a design which is D‑optimal. For the construction of the D‑optimal design,

Existence of a new class of group divisible designs with block size four

open access: yesNantong Daxue xuebao. Ziran kexue ban, 2022
Group divisible designs are not only kinds of classical designs in combinatorial design theory, but also have extremely important applications in coding theory.

Effectiveness of different alpha lattice designs in the evaluation of maize (Zea mays L.) genotypes in a rainforest agro-ecology

open access: yesHeliyon, 2021
Plant breeding experiments require the use of appropriate experimental designs that will efficiently block variation due to wide heterogeneity nature of tropical soils.

The Block-Design Tests. [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Psychology, 1920
This article develops an interesting point scale of intelligence on the basis of a performance test consisting of block designs built up from the colored blocks manufactured by the Embossing Company. Seventeen designs of increasing complexity were used with a time limit on each varying from 1 ½ to 4 minutes. The actual working time of the test is 30 to

3-Group Divisible Designs with 3 Groups and Block Size 5

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2023
A 3-GDD (n, 2, k, λ1, λ2) was defined by combining the definitions of a group divisible design and a t-design. In this paper, we extend the definitions to 3 groups and block size 5, and we denote such GDD by 3-GDD (n, 3, 5, μ1, μ2).

Intersection numbers for subspace designs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Intersection numbers for subspace designs are introduced and $q$-analogs of the Mendelsohn and K\"ohler equations are given. As an application, we are able to determine the intersection structure of a putative $q$-analog of the Fano plane for any prime ...
