Block Recovery Rate-Based Unequal Error Protection for Three-Screen TV
This paper describes a three-screen television system using a block recovery rate (BRR)-based unequal error protection (UEP). The proposed in-home wireless network uses scalable video coding (SVC) and UEP with forward error correction (FEC) for ...

Error concealment using motion field interpolation [PDF]
In the context of block-based video coding, two error concealment algorithms are presented. The first algorithm is based on bilinear motion field interpolation (BMFI). For each pel in a damaged block, the algorithm recovers a motion vector using bilinear

Double symbol error rate and block error rate of MDPSK
The double symbol error rate (DSER) is calculated for an M-ary DPSK (MDPSK) system to show that double symbol errors are less likely to be produced when M ≥ 4 than for the binary case (M = 2) and that MDPSK with M ≥ 4 provides similar conditional SER (defined as the SER when the previous symbol decision was in error) when compared at the same SER value.

Concatenated Polar Codes [PDF]
Polar codes have attracted much recent attention as the first codes with low computational complexity that provably achieve optimal rate-regions for a large class of information-theoretic problems.

A simple importance sampling technique for orthogonal space-time block codes on Nakagami fading channels [PDF]
In this contribution, we present a simple importance sampling technique to considerably speed up Monte Carlo simulations for bit error rate estimation of orthogonal space-time block coded systems on spatially correlated Nakagami fading ...
