Sensitivities and block sensitivities of elementary symmetric Boolean functions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Cryptology, 2021
Boolean functions have important applications in molecular regulatory networks, engineering, cryptography, information technology, and computer science. Symmetric Boolean functions have received a lot of attention in several decades.

Diagnostic efficacy cell block method of transthoracic fine needle aspiration in diagnosis of lung cancer

open access: yesUniversa Medicina, 2021
Background Lung cancer is still the main cause of cancer deaths. The high lung cancer mortality rate is caused by a diagnosis factor or therapy selection.

Improving sensitivity in ring-waveguide coupled with a silver block for temperature sensing

open access: yesResults in Optics, 2022
A ring-waveguide coupled with a silver block is investigated detailedly. The Coupled-Mode theory (CMT) is introduced to analyze the transmission properties, and the CMT result has been demonstrated by the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD).

On Block Sensitivity and Fractional Block Sensitivity [PDF]

open access: yesLobachevskii Journal of Mathematics, 2018
We investigate the relation between the block sensitivity $\text{bs}(f)$ and fractional block sensitivity $\text{fbs}(f)$ complexity measures of Boolean functions. While it is known that $\text{fbs}(f) = O(\text{bs}(f)^2)$, the best known separation achieves $\text{fbs}(f) = \left(\frac{1}{3\sqrt2} +o(1)\right) \text{bs(f)}^{3/2}$.

Newborns’ sensitivity to speed changes as a building block for animacy perception

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
The human visual system can discriminate between animate beings vs. inanimate objects on the basis of some kinematic cues, such as starting from rest and speed changes by self-propulsion.

Combining electrocardiographic criteria for predicting acute total left main coronary artery occlusion

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2022
BackgroundPrediction of left main artery (LM) occlusion may contribute to the administration of early reperfusion. We sought to identify electrocardiographic (ECG) features associated with acute total LM occlusion and explore the relationship between ECG

Elevated high-sensitivity C-reactive protein levels increase the risk of new-onset cardiac conduction disorders

open access: yesCardiovascular Diabetology, 2023
Background Previous studies have reported that inflammatory responses can promote the onset of cardiovascular diseases; however, its association with cardiac conduction disorders remains unclear.

Cell membrane permeability and defective G2/M block as factors potentially contributing to increased cell chemosensitivity. SeAx cell line as an example

open access: yesBiochemistry and Biophysics Reports, 2021
Background: Immortalized mammalian cell lines are a valuable research tool, though they represent a highly simplified model. Due to accumulated mutations they may not reflect characteristics of the disease or even the tissue they derive from.

The diagnostic performance of combined conventional cytology with smears and cell block preparation obtained from endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration for intra-abdominal mass lesions.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2022
Background/aimEndoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) is the primary method for tissue acquisition of intra-abdominal masses. However, the main limitation of cytology alone is the lack of tissue architecture and inadequate samples ...
