Role of white blood cells in filtration of blood cell suspensions
Biorheology, 1983The time-dependent filtration pressure curves of cell suspensions pumped through 5 μm polycarbonate filters at a constant flow rate were analyzed with the aid of a theoretical model developed in an accompanying paper. The cell suspensions contained mixtures of erythrocytes and leukocytes, the concentrations of which were systematically varied.

Vox Sanguinis, 2011Background Patients receiving red‐blood‐cells may form antibodies against the alloantigens expressed by red‐blood‐cells, with the risk of serious morbidity and the need for extensive phenotype‐matching in subsequent transfusions. The incidence of alloimmunization is considered variable for specific patient groups and for first time antibody formation.
