Platelet quality deteriorates during storage due to protein and platelet adhesion to current bag materials. Here, polymer coatings are identified that reduce adhesion and translated them to mini‐storage bags. Platelet quality are not impacted, despite significantly reducing adhesion.

Engineering of a functional protein corona with a synergistic heparin‐ATIII complex significantly improves hemocompatibility of PEG nanoparticles. Through deliberate engineering of the protein corona, a 4‐fold reduction in coagulation activation (F1 + 2) without inducing adverse thromboinflammatory reactions (CD11b, C5a) is achieved without disrupting ...

Human Skin Models in Biophotonics: Materials, Methods, and Applications
This review discusses how the optical properties of human skin can be replicated in human skin models. It describes the principles, materials, and techniques used to develop artificial skin for biophotonics research. Finally, the article highlights recent advances and shows how these models improve the study of light‐skin interactions without the need ...

3D Bioprinted Renal Constructs Using Kidney‐Specific ECM Bioink System on Kidney Regeneration
A kidney‐specific bioink derived from decellularized porcine kidney tissue supports the encapsulation, viability, and maturation of human primary kidney cells within 3D bioprinted constructs. In vivo, it also promotes the recruitment of host renal progenitor cells, collectively enhancing structural and functional regeneration of renal tissue.

Impaired Whole-Blood Fibrinolysis is a Predictor of Mortality in Intensive Care Patients
Background Altered fibrinolysis is considered to play a crucial role in the development of coagulopathy in sepsis. However, routine laboratory tests for fibrinolysis are currently very limited, and the impact of fibrinolytic capacity on ...

The expression of integrin β4 (ITGβ4) on small extracellular vesicle (sEV) correlates with lung‐tropism. Enrichment of ITGβ4 on sEVs enhances their lung‐targeting ability. The sEVs loaded with doxorubicin exhibit superior therapeutic efficacy in a lung metastasis mouse model.

Effects of Preeclampsia and Eclampsia on Cord Blood Coagulation Tests
ABSTRACT Blood coagulation tests were determined in fifty-three paired umbilical cord blood and maternal venous blood samples originating from term singleton vaginal cephalic deliveries. The index group comprised seventeen deliveries complicated by preeclampsia or eclampsia, and the control group comprised thirty-six healthy women with uneventful ...
