Leukoreduced blood components: Advantages and strategies for its implementation in developing countries

open access: yesAsian Journal of Transfusion Science, 2010
Removal of leucocytes from various blood products has been shown to minimize Febrile nonhemolytic transfusion reactions, HLA alloimmunization, platelet refractoriness in multitransfused patients and prevention of transmission of leukotropic viruses such ...

Transfusion support in preterm neonates <1500 g and/or <32 weeks in a tertiary care center: A descriptive study

open access: yesAsian Journal of Transfusion Science, 2018
Background: Lack of recent studies focusing on indications, pattern, and benefits of transfusions in low birth weight (B.Wt) and low gestational age (GA) preterm neonates prompted us to undertake this study.

Detection rate for ESR1 mutations is higher in circulating‐tumor‐cell‐derived genomic DNA than in paired plasma cell‐free DNA samples as revealed by ddPCR

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Analysis of ESR1 mutations in plasma cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) is highly important for the selection of treatment in patients with breast cancer. Using multiplex‐ddPCR and identical blood draws, we investigated whether circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and cfDNA provide similar or complementary information for ESR1 mutations.

Early Predictive Factors of Hypofibrinogenemia in Acute Trauma Patients

open access: yesJournal of Emergencies, Trauma and Shock, 2018
Background: Uncontrolled hemorrhage still remains a major cause of trauma-associated mortality. The events resulting in acute traumatic coagulopathy, particularly hypofibrinogenemia, make control of bleeding difficult.

Cell‐free DNA aneuploidy score as a dynamic early response marker in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
mFast‐SeqS‐based genome‐wide aneuploidy scores are concordant with aneuploidy scores obtained by whole genome sequencing from tumor tissue and can predict response to ARSI treatment at baseline and, at an early time point, to ARSI and taxanes. This assay can be easily performed at low cost and requires little input of cfDNA. Cell‐free circulating tumor
