Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Microfluidic electro‐viscoelastic manipulation of extracellular vesicles

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The electro‐viscoelastic manipulation as a potential method for separation of particles based on size. The particles introduced as a sheath flow migrate to the channel center under the influence of simultaneously applied electric field and pressure driven flow.

Pulmonary consequences of experimentally induced stroke: differences between global and focal cerebral ischemia

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology
IntroductionCerebral ischemia leads to multiple organ dysfunctions, with the lungs among the most severely affected. Although adverse pulmonary consequences contribute significantly to reduced life expectancy after stroke, the impact of global or focal ...

Indoleamine 2,3‐dioxygenase 1 inhibition reverses cancer‐associated fibroblast‐mediated immunosuppression in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CAF‐mediated immunosuppression in ovarian cancer is driven by IDO1, reducing T‐cell function. Inhibiting IDO1 restores T‐cell proliferation and cytotoxicity, increases cancer cell apoptosis, and may help overcome CAF‐induced immune suppression in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer. Targeting IDO1 may improve antitumor immunity.
