Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Variations in Arterial Blood Pressure after Kidney Transplantation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
The course of hypertension within the first 2 months after kidney transplantation was correlated with renal function, plasma renin activity (PRA), and the daily maintenance dose of prednisone in 18 homograft recipients.

Trans-ethnic association study of blood pressure determinants in over 750,000 individuals

open access: yesNature Genetics, 2018
In this trans-ethnic multi-omic study, we reinterpret the genetic architecture of blood pressure to identify genes, tissues, phenomes and medication contexts of blood pressure homeostasis.

Intrinsic Blood Pressure [PDF]

open access: yesCirculation, 1954
In this paper a concept of intrinsic blood pressure is formulated. This pressure was measured in 84 subjects with normal and abnormal vascular systems. It is concluded that shock, congestive failure, hypertension and the normal vascular system can be defined and understood in terms of intrinsic blood pressure.

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Aortic arterial stiffness associates with carotid intima-media thickness and carotid plaques in younger middle-aged healthy people

open access: yesBlood Pressure
Purpose Aortic stiffness, assessed as estimated aortic pulse wave velocity (aPWV), and carotid intima-media thickness (cIMT) are markers of vascular age, and carotid plaques are a marker of early atherosclerosis. In this cross-sectional study we aimed to
