DETERMINANTS OF BLOOD PRESSURE IN SNORERS

The Lancet, 1988
To examine the hypothesis that the tendency to raised blood pressure in snorers is associated with nocturnal hypoxaemia and snoring, blood pressure was measured and snoring, oxyhaemoglobin saturation (SaO2), and thoraco-abdominal movements were monitored overnight in 372 snorers.

DEVELOPMENTAL DETERMINANTS OF BLOOD PRESSURE IN ADULTS

Annual Review of Nutrition, 2005
▪ Abstract  Over the past 20 years a large and varied body of research has attempted to make the case for the developmental origins of elevated adult blood pressure (BP). Experimental animal research has identified plausible biological mechanisms through which fetal nutritional insufficiency may affect adult BP.

Genetic Determinants of Blood Pressure Regulation

The Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing, 1999
Blood pressure homeostasis in humans reflects the coordinate interactions of cardiac output, peripheral vascular resistance, renal volume control, and CNS integration in response to short- and long-term environmental stimuli. Variations in mean arterial pressure within the population include a significant hereditary component.

Necrophysiological determination of blood pressure in fishes

Naturwissenschaften, 2005
Bony fishes have an elastic chamber between the heart and aorta, the bulbus arteriosus, which has unique mechanical properties. On inflation, the isolated bulbus is initially very stiff but soon becomes extremely compliant yielding a steady (plateau) pressure upon further inflation, which appears to be similar in any given species.

Correlates of the Hemodynamic Determinants of Blood Pressure

Hypertension, 1996
The purpose of this study was to investigate the association of sex, race, lean body mass, and fat mass with the hemodynamic determinants of blood pressure, including stroke volume, heart rate, and total peripheral vascular resistance. The study included 201 subjects aged 6 to 17 years, 105 of whom were male and 98 of whom were black. Lean
