Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Detection of MicroRNAs in Dried Serum Blots [PDF]
MicroRNAs are short RNAs which can be utilized as biomarkers for a variety of conditions. They are detectable in serum, and changes in the levels of circulating microRNAs have been associated with different diseases.

Partial inhibition of focal adhesion kinase (FAK) can paradoxically promote tumor growth, rather than simply producing a weaker antitumor effect than that observed with strong FAK suppression. In breast cancer and melanoma models, targeting p110δ PI3K, particularly in macrophages, counteracted these tumor‐promoting effects, highlighting the importance ...

MicroRNA fingerprints in serum and whole blood of sarcoid-affected horses as potential non-invasive diagnostic biomarkers. [PDF]
Serum and whole blood microRNA (miRNA) fingerprints have been proposed as a new class of non-invasive human cancer biomarkers. In this study, we compared equine sarcoid (ES) disease-specific serum and whole blood miRNA fingerprints and correlated them to

Blood Serum Lipoproteins: A review
Recent research in ruminant nutrit ion and metabolism has focused attention on l ipid utilization and l ipid-protein interactions. F o r example, Varman and Schultz (82) have reported altered levels of lipids in the blood stream of cows with depressed fa t test. McCarthy et al.

Loss of eIF5A rewires thapsigargin‐mediated endoplasmic reticulum stress responses in multiple myeloma cells by selective translation of mRNA transcripts, consequently dampening thapsigargin‐induced unfolded protein response (UPR) activation and shifting the balance from induction of apoptosis toward cell survival and proliferation.

Experimental atherosclerosis in rabbits on diets with milk fat and different proteins [PDF]
In this thesis the literature about the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis has been reviewed. The various risk indicators for atherosclerosis are discussed and related to the theory about atherogenesis. A review of the influence of milk fat constituents and

Cardiac troponin I but not cardiac troponin T adheres to polysulfone dialyser membranes in an in vitro haemodialysis model: explanation for lower serum cTnI concentrations following dialysis. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Elevated serum cardiac troponin T (cTnT) and I (cTnI) can occur in patients with chronic kidney disease. Differences in cTn concentrations between cTnT and cTnI have been reported but the mechanism of such discrepancy has not been ...
