Islatravir‐loaded dissolving microarray patches (MAPs) provide a minimally invasive, long‐acting solution for HIV‐1 prevention and treatment. In rats, sustained islatravir delivery lasts up to three months, while in minipigs, efficacious plasma levels are detected for six days.

Local viscosity distribution in bifurcating microfluidic blood flows
The red blood cell (RBC) aggregation phenomenon is majorly responsible for the non-Newtonian nature of blood, influencing the blood flow characteristics in the microvasculature.

This study presents a novel implantable drug delivery systemwith a biodegradable poly(caprolactone) membrane and compressed drug core forsustained release. These implantable devices deliver risperidone in vitro for 170 days and in vivo for 49 days in rats, showing promise for chronic conditions like schizophrenia.

Effects of Intralipid infusion on hemorheology and peripheral resistance in neonates and children [PDF]
Deleterious microcirculatory effects of Intralipid (IL) infusion may be caused by hemorheological or vascular effects. The aim of this investigation was to study vascular and hemorheological effects of IL in preterm and fullterm neonates and children ...

Progestin drugs are loaded into a mesoporous silicon dioxide host by melt‐infiltration. Drugs that decompose at or close to their melting point can be loaded by the addition of cholesterol, which acts as a melting point suppressor. High mass loading of the drug is achieved, and dissolution of the composite is controlled by the nanoscale properties of ...

DexaPatch, an implantable, low‐swelling amphiphilic hydrogel system containing dexamethasone‐PLGA microparticles, is developed and characterized for sustained local steroid release to reduce postoperative inflammation in tight surgical spaces. DexaPatch significantly reduces postoperative edema and fibrosis in a rabbit model of anterior spinal surgery,

Rheology of suspensions of viscoelastic spheres: deformability as an effective volume fraction
We study suspensions of deformable (viscoelastic) spheres in a Newtonian solvent in plane Couette geometry, by means of direct numerical simulations. We find that in the limit of vanishing inertia the effective viscosity $\mu$ of the suspension increases

Reinforced Polymer–Nanoparticle Hydrogels for Subcutaneous and Sustained Delivery of Trastuzumab
Biologic therapy development is rapidly accelerating, requiring extended delivery formulation strategies. Supramolecular hydrogels and electrostatic complexation create subcutaneous depots that release clinically relevant trastuzumab doses in a controlled manner through simple component mixing without chemical modifications.
