Laboratory Testing of Whole Blood Viscosity: The issues of sensitivity and specificity

open access: yes, 2015
The book is a compilation of a laboratory-based translational research series done on whole blood viscosity (WBV). The theoretical framework is based on WBV being synonymous to blood stasis; and the significance is in the context of blood circulation ...

Cross‐Scale Hierarchical Targeted Delivery System Based on Small‐Scale Magnetic Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This article reviews a cross‐scale hierarchical targeted delivery system that integrates magnetic continuum robots and magnetic microrobots. By combining rapid long‐range navigation with precise microscale targeting, the system overcomes key limitations of single‐scale approaches.

Whole blood viscosity determination in diabetes management: perspective in practice

open access: yes, 2009
Background: Antiplatelet and antioxidant nutritional therapies (ANT) are commonly used in diabetes management. Guidelines recommend identifying deficiencies of antioxidant vitamins and condition of no contraindication for nutritional and antiplatelet ...

Viscosity of the blood [PDF]

open access: yes, 1920
The blood viscosity depends on the number of the corpuscular elements pres e n t ?and on the viscosity of the plasma. It is rapidly altered by conditions which concentrate or dilute the fluid of the blood, and is very sensitive to slight variations ...

MicroRoboScope: A Portable and Integrated Mechatronic Platform for Magnetic and Acoustic Microrobotic Experimentation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents the MicroRoboScope, a highly integrated, compact, and portable microrobotic experimentation platform combining electromagnetic and acoustic actuation with real‐time visual feedback into a single, end‐to‐end device. The system enables closed‐loop control and tracking algorithm experimentation within an accessible and unified hardware ...

Optimization of Magnetic Milli‐Spinner for Robotic Endovascular Intervention

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents the design optimization of a multifunctional magnetic milli‐spinner for high‐speed propulsion and efficient clot debulking. The optimized design achieves an ultrafast swimming velocity of 55 cm/s (≈175 body lengths/s) in saline water, enabling stable upstream swimming against strong physiological flows and establishing magnetic milli‐

Nanocellulose Alleviates Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy via Gut Microbiota‐Mediated Bile Acid Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanocellulose, derived from microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) through sulfuric acid hydrolysis or mechanical grinding to produce CNC or CNF, was tested in a rat ICP model. Particularly, CNF improved gut microbiota composition, reduced secondary bile acid metabolism, and restored bile acid homeostasis through modulation of the gut–liver axis.
