Experimental and Numerical Conjugate Investigation of the Blowing-Ratio Influence on the Showerhead Cooling Efficiency

Volume 4: Heat Transfer; Electric Power; Industrial and Cogeneration, 1998
This paper presents the experimental investigation of the flow and the numerical analysis of the flow and heat transfer in a turbine guide vane with showerhead cooling for two different blowing ratios. The aerodynamic results are compared with those of the experiments.

Study of the Effects of the Blowing Ratio of Vortex Generator Jets in a Low Pressure Turbine

43rd AIAA/ASME/SAE/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference & Exhibit, 2007
as steady jets and can reduce the amount of mass flow needed to maintain control. An experiment using Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) has been performed to study the interaction of the VGJ flow with the flow around the airfoils. A cascade of low pressure turbine blades was mounted in the test section of a low speed wind tunnel.

On the effect of low blowing ratio continuous jets on wingtip vortex characteristics

2018
Vortices are an unavoidable effect of flight, which appear behind the wing with a bounded length. The strength of these vortices, which are extremely stable, is due to the lift force [1]. That is the reason why this phenomenon is especially relevant during take-off and landing operations.
