Understanding the Effects of Processing Conditions on the Properties and Durability of Poly(Butylene Succinate)

open access: yesJournal of Vinyl and Additive Technology, EarlyView.
Understanding the effects of processing conditions on the properties and durability of poly(butylene succinate). ABSTRACT This study investigates the effect of processing conditions on the structural, mechanical, and degradation behavior of poly(butylene succinate) (PBS), a promising biodegradable polyester.

Lack of capture‐induced mortality of neonates associated with variation in handling protocols

open access: yesWildlife Society Bulletin, EarlyView.
We found that handling metrics (e.g., handling time, number of collectors, and age at capture) had limited or no influence on the survival of neonatal mule deer, desert bighorn sheep, and Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep within the first few days of life. Furthermore, we found that handled mule deer and Rocky Mountain bighorn neonates were recruited at a ...

MultiRec: Effects of multiple extrusion in cast and blown film applications

open access: yes
The MultiRec project investigates the degradation of physicochemical and mechanical properties in linear low-density polyethylene granulate subjected to multiple reprocessing cycles without intermediate additivation. This reprocessed granulate is incorporated into stretch films for automatic wrapping.

Microplastic Detectability Investigation in Soils Using X‐Ray Microtomography

open access: yesX-Ray Spectrometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT X‐ray microtomography (microCT) is a promising tool for investigating microplastic (MP) contamination in soils, offering non‐destructive 3D visualization and quantitative analysis of particles embedded in complex matrices. This study evaluated its applicability by mixing plastic fragments (PET, PEHD, PS, and PP) with humus‐rich and sandy soils

Thermal Conductive Network Construction and Enhanced Thermal Conductivity in Mica Tape Composites for Large Generators by Pre‐Placed h‐BN@PDA‐Modified Mica Paper

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The lower thermal conductivity (TC) of mica tape hinders the evolution of large generators towards higher voltage and capacity. To enhance the TC of the mica tape, with the help of the three‐dimensional (3D) multi‐layer framework of the mica paper, a 3D polydopamine‐coated boron nitride (h‐BN@PDA) TC network was constructed by pre‐placing h‐BN@
