Crystal structure and optical performance in bulk γ-InSe single crystals
High purity γ-phase InSe single crystals have been synthesized and characterized by XRD, SEM, EDS and TEM. Detailed temperature dependent Raman and photoluminescence spectroscopy suggests a small blue-shift as temperature decreases.

The enzyme 5‐lipoxygenase (5‐LOX) catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes (LTs) involved in inflammatory pathophysiology. After cellular stimulation, 5‐LOX translocates to the nucleus, interacting with the 5‐LOX‐activating protein (FLAP) to form LTA4 from arachidonic acid (AA).

The Asymmetric Bipolar Fe II Jet and H2 Outflow of TMC1A Resolved with JWST's NIRSpec IFU [PDF]
(abridged) Protostellar outflows exhibit large variations in their structure depending on the observed gas emission. This study analyzes the atomic jet and molecular outflow in the Class I protostar, TMC1A to characterize morphology and identify previously undetected spatial features with JWST's NIRSpec IFU. In addition to identifying a large number of

UDP‐glucuronic acid 4‐epimerase (UGAepi) catalyzes NAD+‐dependent interconversion of UDP‐glucuronic acid (UDP‐GlcA) and UDP‐galacturonic acid (UDP‐GalA) via C4‐oxidation, 4‐keto‐intermediate rotation, and C4‐reduction. Here, Borg et al. examined the role of the substrate's carboxylate group in the enzymic mechanism by analyzing NADH‐dependent reduction

„Hloubání a voda jsou navždy spjaty“: Vzestup modré ekokritiky [PDF]
The article introduces blue ecocriticism into Czech literary studies by reviewing Steve Mentz’s volume An Introduction to the Blue Humanities (2023). It briefly outlines the circumstances of the cultural turn to the seas and oceans around the year 2000 ...

Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) promote cancer growth, invasion (metastasis), and drug resistance. Here, we identified functional and diverse circulating CAFs (cCAFs) in patients with metastatic prostate cancer (mPCa). cCAFs were found in higher numbers and were functional and diverse in mPCa patients versus healthy individuals, suggesting their ...

Interlayer coupling effect in twisted stacked few layer black phosphorus revealed by abnormal blue shifts in Raman spectra [PDF]
Twisted stacked few layer black phosphorus heterostructures were successfully fabricated in this work. Abnormal blue shifts in their Ag1 and Ag2 Raman peaks and unique optical reflections were observed in these samples. The phonon behavior difference can be explained by our density functional theory calculations, which suggest that interlayer coupling ...

Strain-induced tuning of optical properties of layered Mo$S_2$ [PDF]
The sensitive correlation between optical parameters and strain in Mo$S_2$ results in a totally different approach to tune the optical properties. Usually, an external source of strain is employed to monitor the optical and vibrational properties of a material.

Frequency dependent polarizability of small metallic grains
We study the dynamic electronic polarizability of a single nano-scale spherical metallic grain using quantum mechanical approach. We introduce the model for interacting electrons bound in the grain allowing us numerically to calculate the frequency ...

Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a possibility for different applications in early and late stage breast cancer management. In early breast cancer tumor informed approaches are increasingly used for detecting molecular residual disease (MRD) and early recurrence. In advanced stage, ctDNA provides a possibility for monitoring disease progression and
