Analyzing Non‐Random Selectivity in Online Job Advertisements Using Eurostat Benchmark Data and Generalized Sample Selection Models: An Application to EU Regional Labor Markets

open access: yesLABOUR, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The present paper provides an overall framework to afford the problem of non‐representativeness and non‐random selectivity arising from online job ads data, using Generalized sample selection models and Eurostat benchmark data. We jointly model the outcome intensity (number of online job ads in observed profiles, whose levels are defined by ...

Endogamia, fixação de alelos e limite de seleção em populações selecionadas por métodos tradicionais e associados a marcadores moleculares Inbreeding, alleles fixation and selection limit in populations under traditional or marker assisted selection methods

The Use of BLUP Method in Ram Selection

open access: yesKafkas Universitesi Veteriner Fakultesi Dergisi, 2009
Bu calisma, Konya Merinos’u kuzularinin sutten kesim agirligi yonunden, damizlik degerlerini BLUP (Best Linear Unbiased Prediction) metodu ile hesaplamak amaciyla yapilmistir. Calismada, 1997-2002 yillari arasinda Konya Hayvancilik Arastirma Enstitusu’nde yetistirilen, 1167 bas Konya Merinosu kuzularina ait kayitlar degerlendirmeye alinmistir.

Genetic diversity and population structure of Euterpe edulis by REML/BLUP analysis of fruit morphology and microsatellite markers

open access: yes, 2020
Euterpe edulis is an endemic species of the Atlantic Forest that is threatened by the unsustainable exploitation of palm heart. Fruit management is an alternative to overcome this problem, promoting income generation, preserving the trees in forest ...

The maize mitogen‐activated protein kinase kinase kinase gene ZmMAPKKK45 is associated with multiple disease resistance

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Southern leaf blight (SLB), caused by the necrotrophic fungus Cochliobolus heterostrophus, is a major foliar disease of maize (Zea mays) world‐wide. A genome‐wide association study was performed to dissect the genetic basis of SLB resistance in maize. Functional validation was performed using mutant and transgenic analyses.

Statistical inference of the mixed linear model with incorrect stochastic linear restrictions

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
We considered the general mixed linear model $ \mathscr{N} $ subject to two competing stochastic linear restrictions, $ \mathscr{M}_{0} $ and $ \mathscr{M} $, where the restrictions $ \mathscr{M} $ are the correct information whereas restrictions $ \

Controlling the Overfitting of Heritability in Genomic Selection through Cross Validation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In genomic selection (GS), all the markers across the entire genome are used to conduct marker-assisted selection such that each quantitative trait locus of complex trait is in linkage disequilibrium with at least one marker.

Expanding the BLUP alphabet for genomic prediction adaptable to the genetic architectures of complex traits

open access: yesHeredity, 2018
Improvement of statistical methods is crucial for realizing the potential of increasingly dense genetic markers. Bayesian methods treat all markers as random effects, exhibit an advantage on dense markers, and offer the flexibility of using different ...

Selection of forage oat genotypes through GGE Biplot and BLUP

open access: yesbioRxiv, 2020
In Bolivia, there is a low predominance of forage oat productivity. Therefore, it was proposed to select more productive and stable genotypes through statistical methods of GGE Biplot and BLUP.

A High‐Throughput Phenotyping Pipeline for Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa) Panicles Using Image Analysis With Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yesPlant Breeding, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Quinoa is a grain crop with excellent nutritional properties that has attracted global attention for its potential contribution to future food security in a changing climate. Despite its long history of cultivation, quinoa has been improved little by modern breeding and is a niche crop outside its native cultivation area.
